Mazabuka Central Member of Parliament, Gary Nkombo has commended the Germany government’s commitment to funding the upgrading of township roads to bituminous standard in the district.
In an interview with Byta FM News, Nkombo is happy at the announcement saying the township roads in Mazabuka have become impassable hence an upgrade will change the face of the district.
Germany Ambassador to Zambia, Achim Burkhart disclosed last week that the upgrading project is targeting six districts in the region namely Kalomo, Choma, Monze, Sinazongwe, Mazabuka and Gwembe starting this year.
Meanwhile, Nkombo has called on government to meet the funding requirements and ensure that project is fully implemented.
Meanwhile, PF Mazabuka District Chairperson, Brian Hamududu says the announcement by the Germany government is timely.
He notes that the township roads in Mazabuka are deplorable and are proving to be expensive to drive on by motorists who are forced to buy Spare parts for their vehicles frequently.
