Police in Choma have arrested five suspects in connection with the murder of an unknown man killed in a mob justice incident in Mapanza’s Chiefdom last Friday.
The victim was killed on suspicions of participating in the spraying of chemical, events that have come to be known as gassing incidents.
Police Spokesperson, Esther Katongo has identified the suspects as Alaster Mweele, Mackson Simuchila, Jones Hang’ambwa, Rachael Lyambayi and Wesley Hachipe, all of Mapanza aged between 30 and 49.
Katongo tells Byta FM News that police are still looking for Venon Hakamenu who is on the run.
She reveals that all the suspects have been detained in police custody charged with Murder and will appear in court soon.
In other developments, Katongo says a stray elephant has reportedly attacked and killed Selina Mulima aged between 60 and 65 of Hampongo village in Monze District.
Katongo discloses that the incident occurred this morning as she was going to her field and police have since killed the elephant in Gwembe.
The body of the deceased has been deposited in Gwembe District Hospital mortuary.
